Green Building Facilitation Services
Building Green is catching the eye of not only the niche but also the common man. Having associated with various building services for several years, Overdrive Engineering introduces the green building facilitation services.
Saving energy, saving water, improving air quality, reducing material embodied energy and associated costs and constructing sustainably are the key guiding principles.
While, all of these are needed to achieve a green building, we focus on self-achievement of a rating by improving the building performance.
Our core expertise lies in several simulations such as :
|
• Energymodeling,
• Daylight simulation,
• Thermalmodeling,
• Computational fluid dynamics and more.
• These simulations not only guide the designer in designing a well-informed solution but also lead to significant energy savings.
|
|
We also consult in the core green building documentation and added features such as
|
• Solar PV system design,
• Rain water harvesting,
• Cool roof modeling besides others.
• Geothermal Cooling and Heating
|
|
Our in house team of USGBC LEED APs, IGBC APs and GRIHA Trainers and Evaluators shall interact with you directly and get involved in a cradle-to-cradle process.
Third Party commissioning and walk through energy audits are another set of niche services performed by qualified energy auditors.
Besides the Indian and United States Green Building Certifications, also classified as LEED, we also consult in GRIHA facilitation, BEE Star rating, SVA GRIHA, Green SEZ and CII promoted Green Rating for Companies.

Brief On Green Factory |
Green Factory
Factory building through an integrated sustainable design approach can achieve tangible and intangible benefits. The most tangible benefits are the reduction in water and energy consumption right from day of occupancy. The energy savings could range from 30 – 40 % and water savings around 20 – 30%. Intangible benefits of green factory include enhanced indoor air quality, good day lighting, health, wellbeing and safety of the workmen. To reduce the dependency on fossil fuels and the resultant air pollution, a green factory encourages the use of alternate fuels for transportation, public transportation, bio fuels for captive power generation, green power and onsite renewable energy generation.

|
Occupational Health:
Occupational health is one of the major concerns in providing safety and good working conditions in the industrial sector to reduce the risk of problems related to work.
• Maximize natural day light on the shop/work floor. Also provide day lighting for all regularly occupied spaces.
• Provision for breakout spaces for workers. These spaces should be such that workmen can get away from their work areas and rejuvenate themselves.
• Provide well ventilated work areas with provision for fresh air supply to meet occupant's requirement.
• A transport facility catering for a major percentage of employees/workers/occupants.
|
|
Water Efficiency:
Green factory building uses water in a self – sustainable manner through reduce, recycle and reuse strategies.
• Up to 60% reduction in non-process water consumption through low flow water fixtures.
• A landscape plan maximizing the use of local and indigenous species of plants, shrubs, trees.
• Reducing turf areas to decrease potable water demand for irrigation.
• Reuse of treated waste water for irrigation/flushing etc.
• Comprehensive rain water harvesting system further reduces water demand.
|
|
Energy Efficiency:
• Factory Buildings consume significant amount of energy of which there is a potential to save 30 to 40%.
• Considering the tremendous knowledge and awareness levels amongst factory owners and designers, factory buildings are well positioned to embrace the latest trends and technologies in enhancing energy efficiency.
Materials efficiency:
• Reduce use of nonrenewable, virgin materials during construction, increase use of construction materials with high recycled content.
• Reduce and reuse construction waste.
• Provide a comprehensive waste management plan post occupancy which helps in recycling both process and non-process waste generated in the factory.
